How payouts work

How payouts work

When a buyer purchases your item, Lhoopholds the funds in escrow until the order is fulfilled. Here's exactly how the money moves.

1

Buyer checks out

The buyer pays your listing price plus a 7.0% buyer service fee, which Lhoop adds at checkout. The buyer pays it, so it doesn't reduce your earnings. Payment is processed securely by Stripe.

2

Funds held in escrow

Your payment is held by Stripe while the order is in transit. This protects both parties: the buyer knows funds are reserved, and you know payment is guaranteed once delivery is confirmed.

3

You ship the item

Pack and send the item, then mark it as shipped in your Orders tab. Adding a tracking number lets the buyer follow progress and helps trigger the automatic release window.

4

Delivery confirmed

Once the buyer marks the order as received, or the automatic confirmation window elapses (14 days after the estimated delivery date), the funds are released from escrow.

5

Stripe deducts processing fee

Stripe deducts its payment processing fee from the released funds before transferring to you. The fee is 1.7% + $0.30, inclusive of GST. This fee is calculated on the full buyer charge, which includes your price plus the buyer service fee.

6

Funds transferred to your bank

Stripe initiates a bank transfer to your connected Australian bank account. Transfers typically arrive within 1–3 business days, depending on your bank's processing times.

When exactly are funds released?

Funds are released as soon as the buyer confirms receipt. If they don't confirm within 14 days of the estimated delivery date, Lhoopautomatically releases the funds on your behalf. The window is generous on purpose — Australia Post timing varies a lot by region, and we'd rather give buyers time than rush them into auto-release.

What if there is a dispute?

If a buyer opens a dispute (item not received or not as described), funds remain in escrow while our support team reviews the case. We aim to resolve disputes within 5 business days. Read the Buyer Protection policy.

Can I see my payout balance?

Yes. Go to Settings → Lhoop Balance to view your available balance, pending payouts, and full transaction history.

Do I need to request a payout?

No. Payouts are automatic. Once funds are released from escrow, Stripe initiates the transfer to your connected bank account without any manual action required from you.
