Delete your account

Delete your account and data

You can delete your Lhoop account and personal data yourself, at any time, from inside the app. No need to email us. This page explains the steps, what gets removed, and the few records we are legally required to keep.

How to delete your account

1

Sign in to your account

Sign in at lhoop.com.au with the account you want to delete. If you signed up with Google or Facebook, sign in the same way.

2

Open Settings

Go to your Profile, then Settings. Signed-in members can go straight to the Delete account screen at /profile/settings/delete-account.

3

Choose Delete account

Tell us why you are leaving if you like (optional), then tick the box to confirm your transactions are complete.

4

Confirm

Tap Close account. Your account and personal data are anonymised straight away and you are signed out. The action cannot be undone.

What gets deleted

When you confirm, we remove your personal information from your profile: your email, phone number, home and pickup address, location, avatar, bio, and password. Your active listings are archived and any drafts are deleted. Unpaid orders are cancelled. Your bag and favourites are cleared, and every active sign-in session is ended. If you sold items and connected a payout account, that Stripe account is closed and your verification documents are released.

What we keep, and why

We keep records of completed and cancelled orders in anonymised form. We are required to retain these for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute records under Australian law (the Privacy Act and APP 11) and equivalent obligations. Your name on those historical transaction records is preserved for those receipts, but it is no longer shown on any public part of Lhoop. Nothing about your deleted account remains visible to other members.

Before you can delete

To protect both sides of a sale, deletion is paused while you have unfinished business: an open dispute, an order that has shipped or is being processed, or a payout that is still held or on its way to your bank. Resolve or wait for those to complete, then delete. The screen tells you exactly what is outstanding.

If you signed up with Facebook or Google

Deleting your Lhoop account removes your Lhoop data as described above, whichever way you signed in. It does not touch your Facebook or Google account. You can also remove Lhoopfrom the connected apps section of your Facebook or Google settings to revoke its access at any time.
