Varsity Foreshore Parklands
A lakeside playground on the Lake Orr foreshore, with a rope climbing pyramid, an arch swing and spinners.
Varsity Foreshore Parklands runs along the edge of Lake Orr at Varsity Lakes, and the playground makes the most of the waterfront setting. The centrepiece is a tall rope climbing pyramid, with a big steel arch holding a round nest swing beside it and a couple of disc spinners, all set on a soft base right by the water.
It is an open, breezy spot rather than a fenced enclosure, with the lake on one side and grass all around, so it pairs a play session with a walk. The foreshore is part of a flat, pram-friendly two-kilometre loop around Lake Orr that you can do on foot, with a pram or alongside kids on their bikes.
There are picnic shelters, barbecues and a toilet block with a bright mural along the foreshore, and street parking nearby. Being right on the water and unfenced, it is one to keep an eye on little ones near the lake edge.

Packing for the playground?
Prams, carriers, balance bikes, scooters and outdoor gear cost a fortune new and get outgrown in a blink. Buy them pre-loved on Lhoop, then sell them on when the kids move up a size.
