Photos coming soon

The Kurrawa All-Abilities Playground at Broadbeach, next to the surf club, is one of the most inclusive playgrounds on the coast. It is fully fenced and well shaded, with three themed zones: the hill, the sandcastle and the submarine.

It was co-designed with Disability Services Queensland, and it shows. There are two flying foxes, a Liberty swing, hillside slides, climbing nets and walls and sand play, along with an accessible toilet fitted with an adult-sized change bench and hoist, and wheelchair-height sand tables.

Being fenced and beside the beach makes it a reassuring choice for families with runners or with children who need a calmer, contained space.

Packing for the playground?

Prams, carriers, balance bikes, scooters and outdoor gear cost a fortune new and get outgrown in a blink. Buy them pre-loved on Lhoop, then sell them on when the kids move up a size.
