Galleon Park

A big shaded playground with a learn-to-ride road track, a flying fox and a basketball court, at Currumbin Waters.

Last checked 21 July 2026

Galleon Park at Currumbin Waters is a proper all-rounder. The main playground sits under a big blue shade sail and packs in slides, a climbing wall, monkey bars, a rope net, a spinner and swings, so there is plenty to keep a range of ages busy out of the sun.

The drawcard next door is the learn-to-ride track: a loop of little roads painted with lane markings and zebra crossings, dotted with real-looking road signs, give-way and one-way markers and a set of traffic lights. Kids can bring a balance bike, scooter or skateboard and practise their road rules. There is also a flying fox and a basketball court for when they want to burn off more energy.

It is a shady, grassy spot with a picnic shelter and barbecue under a huge fig tree, a toilet block with an accessible toilet and a drinking fountain, and street parking out the front. The main playground was given an upgrade in late 2021 and sits under a large shade sail, so it stays comfortable even on a warm morning.

Packing for the playground?

Prams, carriers, balance bikes, scooters and outdoor gear cost a fortune new and get outgrown in a blink. Buy them pre-loved on Lhoop, then sell them on when the kids move up a size.
