Vinted is in Australia now. Is it right for kids' stuff?
Vinted launched here in July 2026 and it's genuinely good at what it does. What it does is fashion. Here's where it fits, where it doesn't, and where Lhoop comes in.
What Vinted brings
Vinted is Europe's biggest second-hand fashion marketplace, and its Australian launch came with an Australia Post partnership for parcels and lockers. Sellers pay no fees, buyers pay a protection fee at checkout, and kids' clothing is one of its strongest categories. If you enjoy fashion resale, it's a real option, and we'd rather tell you that straight than pretend otherwise.
What Vinted won't touch
Here's the part that matters if you're a parent clearing more than a wardrobe. Vinted's catalogue rules prohibit most of the gear the baby years actually accumulate:
- Prams and pushchairs
- Baby carriers and wraps
- Sleep products and used baby bedding
- Feeding bottles and nursing equipment
- Children's toys, furniture and childcare equipment more broadly
That's the $600 pram, the barely-used carrier, the nursery furniture, the toy library your kids outgrew. On Lhoop, you can sell your baby gear too, with safety-aware policies (recalled items are prohibited and moderated) instead of a blanket ban.

The bottom line
If you love fashion resale as a hobby, Vinted earns a place on your phone. If you're a parent whose actual problem is a house full of outgrown everything, from size 000 onesies to the pram in the garage, you need the marketplace that takes all of it, holds the money until it arrives, and answers with a human when something goes sideways.
